Our screen printing minimum at Imprint is 36 pieces per design. You can split those pieces across sizes. The part to pay attention to is the design: 36 shirts with one print setup is different from 18 shirts with one design and 18 with another.
If you need fewer, tell us the quantity you actually need. We can review DTF printing applied to your garments instead. You do not need to add shirts you have no use for before asking for a quote.
Count garments first, then group them by design
A front print and a back print are two print locations on one garment. They do not count as two pieces toward the minimum. For example, 24 shirts printed on both sides are still 24 garments.
Three example order breakdowns:
One design across several sizes: 6 Small + 10 Medium + 12 Large + 8 XL = 36 pieces. You do not need 36 in each size.
Two different designs: 18 with a staff design + 18 with an event design = 36 garments, but only 18 per design. Each design needs its own review.
A mix of items: 24 tees + 12 hoodies may form a 36-piece group when they can use the same artwork, print size, ink colors, and setup. Send the items together so we can confirm compatibility.
Changing the artwork, print size, placement, or ink colors can change the setup. The same logo on two garments does not automatically mean the print details are identical. We will check the actual combination before confirming your order.
Why screen printing has a minimum
Before printing the run, we prepare the artwork and screens, line up the design on the press, and check the print. That preparation is still needed for a small batch. More ink colors and additional print locations add work to the job.
A larger order spreads that preparation across more garments. That is why quantity affects the quote. It does not mean every order of 36 has the same price, or that ordering a few extra pieces will always save money overall.
The blank garment, quantity, artwork, ink colors, and print locations all matter. If you want to compare two quantities, ask us to quote the same garment and design at each count so you can compare the actual totals.
Need fewer than 36? Start with your real quantity
A small crew, a test design, or a replacement order may not need a screen print run. We offer DTF apparel printing, including requests below 12 pieces, and will review your artwork, garment, quantity, and price with you.
Include your deadline so we can review timing with the quote.
If you are close to 36 and expect to need spare shirts for new staff or replacements, extras may be useful. If you do not need them, ask about the smaller order first. Compare the total cost and the pieces you will actually use.
